One thing I noticed about some of the Ben 10 OS shorts were that they could just be straight up cruel to Ben. Snack Break: Ben tries getting his stuck candy bar via climbing into the vending machine, only to get Stuck. Gwen steals the candy bar from him, and leaves him in the vending machine, presumably without getting help. Keep in mind, all Ben wanted was to get his candy bar back, which he rightfully paid for. Dogged Pursuit: An old lady mistakes Wildmutt for a dog, and when Ben turns back, he’s dragged away. Grandpa Max and Gwen do nothing to help, simply laughing at his misfortune. Compare this to the short “Survival Skills”, where Ben drenched the campfire supposed to be used to make dinner, and was told he couldn’t use an alien to make another. He disobeyed this rule and had to start the fire all over again. Neither “Snack Break” or “Dogged Pursuit” have Ben’s torment be because of his own doing. Instead, it feels like Celestialsapiens were bored and wanted to see him
